The US Energy Information Administration’ (EIA) has released its detailed ‘Monthly Energy Review‘, and it shows that 2019 was a bumper year for renewables in the US, with much of the growth of energy driven by wind and solar.

In fact, “Wind surpassed hydroelectricity to become the most-consumed source of renewable energy on an annual basis in 2019”.

There is still a long way to go to displace the incredible quantities of gas in the US, and much of this hinges on the outcome of the 2020 Presidential election. But this progress is still quite strong.
