RenewEconomy sets new readership records

Print Friendly, PDF & Email continues to set new readership records, with a record tally of page views in a single day last Friday (Oct 3), and monthly unique visitors surging beyond 170,000 in August, making RenewEconomy the most read renewable energy website in the country, and one of the most widely read in the world.

On Friday October 3, RenewEconomy recorded 30,000 page views – the highest number in a single day since its launch in early 2012, helped by such stories as Citigroup sees solar and battery storage socket parity within yearsWorld’s largest coal miner to invest $1.2 billion in solar; and Maurice Newman refused meeting with climate scientist.

re_reneweconomyThe new record comes after a month of milestones, with 173,500 unique visitors in the month of August, which also set a high of 447,000 page views for the month. Average UVs in the past three months is 145,000, and average monthly page views over the last three months is 415,00.

RenewEconomy’s core readership continues to grow, with 6,600 people now receiving the daily newsletter, with an extraordinarily high open rate of 40 per cent. This is nearly double the industry average, and underlies the strong engagement the website has with the energy industry, policy-makers, advisors and technology developers.

However, the surge in unique visitors over recent months also underlines the growing appeal RenewEconomy has for the wider community, particularly those with an interest in alternative energies, such as rooftop solar and battery storage, and climate change policy issues.

Congrats Giles! Just goes to show the growing interest in renewables and why it is important to have reliable reporting. For me, RE’s coverage of Australian renewable news is important.

Yes, well done Giles and team! You keep on putting out thoughtful and interesting articles each day, not giving into despair at the deniosaur forces arraigned against you. My favourite website – thanks so much!

Reneweconomy is not only the best source of information on renewable energy it is an excellent example of renewed journalism and why the Main stream media is becoming increasingly irrelevant

    Congrats Giles.

Let’s make Australia a leader in Renewable Energy. Starting with timely and accurate info on the same. With Abbott leading us it is the best we can do…for the moment.

Let Paul Hawken’s words continue to inspire us.

“When asked if I am pessimistic or optimistic about the future, my answer is always the same:

If you look at the science about what is happening on earth and aren’t pessimistic, you don’t understand data.

But if you meet the people who are working to restore this earth and the lives of the poor, and you aren’t optimistic, you haven’t got a pulse.

What I see everywhere in the world are ordinary people willing to confront despair, power, and incalculable odds in order to restore some semblance of grace, justice, and beauty to this world.”
    — Paul Hawken
