The Coalition has retained power in NSW, but what’s its plan? Apart from a very big scheme to help households install more rooftop solar and battery storage, that is not clear. But it will need a plan to unlock some of the 30GW of wind, solar and storage projects queuing in the pipeline.

We also look at the federal Coalition’s shortlist of projects for its underwriting scheme, and note the absence of any reference to “base-load” and “24/7” power, and the lack of any new coal projects. So has the dominance of renewables and storage projects brought a reality check to the party room?

Finally, Brian Davis, the head of Shell’s new Energy Solutions business, joins Energy Insiders to explain how one Big Oil company plans to turn Big Electric, and the thinking behind the purchases of the Sonnen battery storage business, two electric vehicle charging companies, and the UK-based First Utility.

Davis talks about Shell’s plans to bring these technologies together and deliver them to the consumer.
