Angus Taylor – who has spent years fighting renewable energy targets attacking wind farm developments – is now energy minister. To help us assess what this means, along with the other seismic political events, we are joined by John Grimes, the CEO of the Smart Energy Council.
Sadly, smart is not something that can be associated with Coalition policies at the moment. They have split energy and environment portfolios, in an obvious admission that the NEG is dead, and any focus on climate and emissions is simply not possible with Ray Hadley, oops, Scott Morrison, in charge.
We also talk about AEMO’s latest 10-year outlook, battery storage, and the big outage on the weekend.
You can listen to this and other podcasts from our Energy Insiders series, and the Solar Insiders series, here, or on your favourite platform.
