What if one third of Australians chose to go off-grid?
Don’t laugh, that’s the serious scenario painted by the CSIRO in its future grid forum, and it may be incredibly conservative. One thing we do know is that the future won’t look like the past, and up to half the country’s electricity will be produced on-site. And electricity won’t be any more expensive than it is now.
