Investors to make hay from sunshine

PRESS RELEASE

Investors are about to get unparalleled access to the best clean technology start-ups in Australia thanks to a new angel investment group launched by EnergyLab.

With a clear focus on supporting start-ups that move the economy towards 100% clean energy, EnergyLab has been backed by the Clean Energy Finance Corporation through the Clean Energy Innovation Fund to deliver the innovative drive needed to accelerate the transition.

CEFC Innovation Fund Executive Director Ben Gust has already been privy to the business plans of several start-ups on board and is excited to see opportunities for investment being presented directly to the Australian market.

“The EU and the US are already investing heavily in start-ups that are energy game-changers. We are looking forward to seeing how the Australian angel network seizes these opportunities once they see the potential of our own clean energy entrepreneurs.”

While start-ups in the EnergyLab Acceleration Program will feature heavily at the investment pitch nights, any clean technology startup is eligible to apply to pitch.

By investing as part of EnergyLab’s Angel Investment Group, members will be able to invest as little as $10,000 towards a startup’s fundraising round, making angel investing accessible to a broader segment of the population.

Anyone interested in joining EnergyLab’s Angel Investment Group is invited to an information evening in Sydney on July 10. Reserve your spot at EnergyLabAngels.eventbrite.com.au.
