Australia continues to lead the world’s green building sector with further growth predicted over the next three years, according to a new global report.
Australia’s position as a green building world-leader looks set to continue with a raft of leading companies signing up to the World Green Building Council’s (WorldGBC) Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment being announced in San Francisco this week.
Romilly Madew, CEO of GBCA, has been awarded the prestigious WorldGBC Chairman’s Award for her work to advance sustainable building globally.
“the Code for Smart Communities will set new benchmarks for smart cities and communities across Australia, New Zealand and beyond, by providing important guidance on how to use technology, data and intelligent design to accelerate more efficient, liveable and sustainable development projects”
After a lengthy industry consultation period, the GBCA has released new versions of the Green Star Interiors rating tools which promise to drive the uptake of low-carbon buildings, incentivise new industries and challenge the market leaders to innovate.
