ARENA & AEMO demand response competitive funding round: Reserve limits for NSW

PRESS RELEASE

Changes to maximum allowable reserves for NSW

ARENA has released an updated version of the funding announcement for the competitive funding round for demand response.

We have provided clarification of the maximum allowable reserves for any one applicant (or related party) under the funding round.

Previously, ARENA had stipulated an upper limit of 30MW of reserves provided by any one applicant, even if distributed across multiple applications.

In light of the $15 million in additional funding provided by ARENA and the NSW Government, these requirements have been updated.

The maximum allowable reserves funded through the program for any single applicant will be as follows:

  • maximum of 30MW of reserves in NEM regions other than NSW;
  • maximum of 20MW of reserves in NSW

A single applicant will be able to apply for funding for up to a total of 50MW of reserves (ie. 30MW of demand response reserves outside NSW, and 20MW within NSW).

Please note you will need to submit two separate applications for NSW and for the rest of the NEM,  if you wish to apply for funding for both.

The funding round is open until 5pm AEST Monday 17 July 2017.

The updated funding announcement is available on ARENA’s website.
