This will be the last RenewEconomy daily newsletter of 2013. We’re taking a break – just like most of the rest of Australia – and will return in January – although we will update the site from time to time if need be.
We’d like to thank all our readers, sponsors and supporters. It’s not easy being a small independent news outlet in the modern media world. (Actually, it’s not easy being a big independent news outlet either.)
In 2013, we have trebled our readership and in the last three months we have averaged more than 110,000 unique visitors to the site each calendar month. It took us the best part of a year to get our first million page impressions, but the latest million page impressions has come in just over three months.
That is an excellent result for a niche publication and makes RenewEconomy the most read clean energy site in Australia – by some distance – and one of the most read in the world. Its ability to break news, bring unique insights and analysis into new developments, and dismiss some of the common myths, make it a must read for energy insiders and policy-makers alike, as well as the broader public.
All the best for the season, and here’s hoping for a successful 2014 for all.
Giles, Sophie and the team.
