Powerwall, as part of the newly created Tesla Tiny House is hitting the road and making its way around Australia to educate the public on how to generate, store and use renewable energy for their home, towed by the all-electric Tesla Model X.

Tesla Tiny House will hit the road and set up shop around Australia, and starting today, anyone can nominate their town, school, business or community group as one of the stops for Tiny House to visit whilst on tour. The tour is designed to provide a one-on-one educational experience on how to integrate Powerwall and solar to seamlessly power an entire home 24/7, allowing Australian consumers to gain control and understanding of their power use.

Powered by 100% renewable energy via a 2 kW solar system and Powerwall, Tiny House contains a mobile design studio and configurator which can calculate how your home can generate clean energy from the sun using solar panels, storing it in Powerwall to use throughout the day and night, which can all be monitored and controlled by the Tesla app.

About Tesla Powerwall

Tesla Powerwall is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery designed to enable self-consumption of solar power and reduce reliance on the grid, as well as for full home backup, load shifting and other grid service applications. It is the second generation of Tesla’s original Powerwall product, which was first introduced to customers in 2015.

Powerwall 2 consists of a 14 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, liquid thermal control system to operate at temperatures ranging from -10 to 50+ degrees, an integrated inverter and software that intelligently dispatches electricity when it’s needed most. Up to ten Powerwall’s can be stacked to accommodate any sized home which mounts seamlessly on a wall or on the ground, indoors or outdoors, and is integrated with the grid to export excess energy, maximising the opportunity for economic benefit.

Does this mean that Tesla will be doing the software to let the powerwall be taken off grid?

I’m not sure what you mean, I thought the Powerwall could already be used off-grid?

Saw it yesterday at fed square! they said they’re using enphase microinverters under the panels for better safety. So it’s actually an all AC system, off grid!
