Australian solar farm developer Terrain Solar says it will partner with Ratch Australia to develop a range of projects, starting off with the 152MW (ac) Marulan solar farm and big battery project in New South Wales.
Marulan – located near Goulburn in southern NSW – is one of five solar farms in the Terrain development portfolio. It joins the Monaro, Myrtle Creek, Moama and Kingaroy solar projects. Terrain’s involvement in completed projects include the Warwick, Corowa, Junee and Wagga solar farms.
A short statement released by Terrain did not give any indication on the anticipated timing of the Marulan project, which will be sited around 5km to the west of the town of the same name, near an existing gas pipeline.
It will be situated on land partly covered by the now discontinued Carrick solar farm.
Terrain Solar, which is chaired by Sun Cable CEO David Griffin, submitted its Environmental Impact Statement in July. It did not indicate the size of the battery.
PwC advised Terrain on the joint venture agreement.
Terrain says it has built 2GW of renewable capacity across Australia, South Africa and the Pacific region. Thai-based Ratch currently owns and operates a renewable asset portfolio in excess of 1.2GW.
