Sonnen are the first German company to win the small & medium enterprise award, and were chosen ahead of fellow finalists in the category 24M and 1366 Technologies. Since it was first awarded in 2009, the Zayed Future Energy Prize has grown to become one of the most prestigious in the cleantech industry.

“It is a huge award for our young company, the oscars of the energy world,” said Ostermann in a press statement. “This shows that our goal of a clean and affordable energy future is recognized at the highest level internationally.”
