New $20 million “Made Right Here” ad campaign kicks off at low-carbon aluminium maker in NSW

A new $20 million national advertising campaign raising awareness of Australian made products kicked off late last week at Capral Aluminium in Smithfield, New South Wales, which manufacture low carbon, high quality extruded aluminium products.

The new ‘Made Right Here’ campaign was launched by federal ministers Tim Ayres and Chris Bowen, part of a 2025 election promise to raise awareness of Australian made products and encourage customers around the country to buy Australian.

Backed by a $20 million grant from the federal government, the ‘Made Right Here’ campaign is being run by the Australian Made Campaign and focuses on the group’s iconic logo of a gold kangaroo on a green background.

The campaign is aimed at enhancing public awareness and business participation, bolstering consumer demand for Australian products, and increasing business adoption of the Australian Made logo.

“As the campaign says, Australian Made means made right here in Australia, but the green-and-gold logo means more than just where something is made – it means that when you choose it, you’re backing local businesses and home-grown ideas as well as supporting fellow Aussies,” said Ben Lazzaro, chief executive of the Australian Made Campaign. 

“The new campaign also highlights and celebrates what we can often take for granted – which is that we have access to such a wide variety of locally made, high-quality products that play pivotal roles in our everyday lives.”

Capral Aluminium is Australia’s largest extruder and aluminium product distributor, and a pioneer of low carbon aluminium products. Its ‘LocAl Aluminium’ is both locally extruded and low carbon, with a certified CO2-equivalent content well below the international average.

Aluminium is expected to play a significant role in the transition to a greener economy, and in addition to making lower-carbon products, Capral has also begun partnering with clean energy companies like Tindo Solar and SunDrive to supply aluminium products.

“Capral Aluminium has operated in Australia for 90 years because we believe local manufacturing adds value to the Australian economy,” said Tony Dragicevich, managing director and CEO of Capral Aluminium.

The ‘Made Right Here’ campaign will run until 30 June 2026 across all media.
