Tritium opens doors of its first overseas facility, established to service the Americas

Increased global sales and strategy prompt international expansion

  • Company’s first overseas facility to be based in California for customer support, manufacturing and R&D in the Americas 
  • Opportunities for local service partners to work with Tritium

Brisbane, Australia, 03 February 2017: Brisbane-based Tritium, developer and manufacturer of the award-winning range of Veefil fast chargers for electric vehicles, has officially opened the doors of its first overseas premises, based in Torrance, California, US.  The facility will service both the North and South America regions and will focus on technical customer support, local manufacturing and R&D.

“Since we launched our first Veefil fast charger in 2013, North America has been one of our largest markets,” explains Paul Sernia, Tritium’s commercial director.  “As our market share has expanded significantly, and in line with our long-term strategy, we are opening regional facilities to maintain our high levels of customer support and engagement.

“The US office is an opportunity for us to build a local network of partners, who we will train to install and service the Veefil range. We will also manufacture our chargers in Torrance which, combined with a growing local network, will bring new jobs into the region.”

Tritium’s commitment to the Americas has been reinforced by the local municipal authority. “Torrance city officials were very helpful in getting us established in the region and we are in an ideal location from which to service both North and South America,” Paul Sernia comments.  “We intend the US facility to become the blueprint for further international offices opening in the near future.”
