Clean-energy hub Adelaide a drawcard for local and global innovators

PRESS RELEASE

Bringing together key local and global energy-storage innovators, the Australian Energy Storage Conference and Exhibition (AES 2020) is returning to Adelaide. Registrations to exhibit and sponsor have opened.

Albert Kruger, Event Director with organiser Exhibitions and Trade Fairs, said, “Adelaide is an energy ‘hotspot’, for both clean energy and energy storage. Holding AES 2020 here ensures visitors and exhibitors are able to capitalise on the unique opportunities available in this state, which has positioned itself as a national leader in modernising energy systems through clean and efficient technologies. South Australia is certainly well down the path of becoming 100% renewable, with energy storage the key to achieving this target.”

MrKrugersaid as the event grows, it continues to draw leading energy innovators from around the world.

“We’re fortunate to have many of these thought, strategy and technology leaders right here in Australia. The two-day event will have expanded exhibition zones and a greater breadth of workshop programs and energy-storage site tours. All this will ensure that visitors and exhibitors can draw the greatest benefits from the opportunities that Adelaide offers in this field.”

Recognising the importance of a clean-energy future, the Government of South Australia is supporting AES 2020 to showcase the state’s clean-energy achievements to Australia and international delegates attending the conference.

Minister for Energy and Mining, Dan van Holst Pellekaan MP, said, This decision to hold the conference in Adelaide bolsters South Australia’s reputation as a national and international leader in the changing energy landscape. Energy storage is a critical component of our government’s overall plan to shift the state’s energy mix towards renewables, and bringing all of these experts here will ensure there is constructive discussion and collaboration on the future direction of our energy endeavours.”

The AES 2020 conference program, including workshops and site tours, will be announced early next year.

AES 2020’s exhibition will showcase leading companies charting the course of the energy transition through energy storage solutions at the residential, commercial and grid levels. The show will allow energy industry experts to see first-hand how South Australia is leading the world in clean-energy generation and storage.

The sectors covered include: agriculture, construction, corporate asset management, design and economic consultants, education and government, facility and building management, finance, heating and cooling, housing and remote communities, manufacturing, mining, power management, recycling, energy storage solution and renewable-energy system providers, R&D, telecommunications, transport and utilities.
