The kindest thing to say about Turnbull’s absurd proposal to extend the life of the country’s oldest coal generator is that he is playing politics. There is no other reason to ask AGL to stick a bandaid on an increasingly unreliable coal generator on the basis it will lead to increased security and lower prices.
