10 million and more reasons to be cheerful: RenewEconomy page views surge in 2018

Published by

The huge interest in the clean energy transition – and the technologies and the policies and politics that go with it – continued to grow in 2018, with more than 10 million page views to RenewEconomy so far this calendar year.

That represents a jump of 30 per cent over the same period a year ago, and also drew the interest of more than two million unique visitors. And while Australia was the centre of our attention, one-quarter of those unique visitors came from overseas, including half from the US.

At the same time as growing the readership of RenewEconomy, we also launched our electric-vehicle speciality publication The Driven, which has attracted nearly 500,000 page views in just over three months, and in November had more than 57,000 unique visitors. That’s more than 10 times the number of EV and hybrid drivers in Australia! Must be a market there somewhere!.

Readership of One Step Off The Grid has also grown, doubling since the re-design of the parent web-site earlier this year and now averaging some 100,000 page views a month.

On top of this, our podcast series’ have also attracted a huge amount of interest, with more than 400,000 downloads across the three series – Energy Insiders, Solar Insiders, and The Driven.
