Renew Economy enjoys record readership as page views top 26 million for first time

Published by

Renew Economy has enjoyed record readership in the past year, with total page views on its website topping 26 million over a rolling 1`2-month period for the first time, and the number of newsletter subscribers also growing 15 per cent over the last year.

Data from Google Analytics shows that Renew Economy had page views of just over 26 million in the 12 months to the end of May, after another strong showing of 2.47 million page views in the month of May.

The number of subscribers to Renew Economy’s free daily newsletter has grown to 24,000, with an astonishing average open rate of 40 per cent over the last year.

The huge interest in our daily newsletters reflects the importance of Renew Economy’s articles, features, interviews and podcasts to the energy industry, consumers, and the political economy in Australia and abroad.

But the scale of monthly unique visitors – an average of 570,000 unique visitors a month over the last year – highlights the broad public interest in the issues covered by Renew Economy.

These include its focus on the green energy transition, renewable and storage technologies, government policy on climate and energy, social impacts, consumer outcomes, and energy markets. Including its sister sites One Step Off the Grid and the EV-focused The Driven, total annual page views top 40 million.

Renew Economy was founded in 2012 and remains independently owned and fiercely independent.

Access to its stories remains free of charge, and we think it is very important to keep it that way, for the benefit of public information. The site is supported by direct and programmatic advertising, podcast and webinar sponsorship, ad hoc grants, and donations.

We are very thankful to all those who contribute and support our work.

Renew Economy has recently expanded its team to help it broaden and deepen its coverage on the issues that matter – under the leadership of new editor Sophie Vorrath – and to build on its business model.

We think it remains critically important – in this crazy world facing an existential climate crisis, and the assault on science and learning, and the brutal acts by vested interests – that there are independent web sites like Renew Economy that can provide accurate and interesting information and discussions that you cannot find elsewhere.

Thanks again for your interest, and for your support.

If you wish to support independent media, and accurate information, please consider making a one off donation or becoming a regular supporter of Renew Economy. Your support is invaluable.
