Back in October 2014 we reported that the people behind Australia’s first community-owned wind farm – Hepburn Wind – were in the process of raising funds to paint the second of its two turbines with a professional mural.
The award winning wind farm had its first turbine, “Gale”, painted at the beginning of 2013 by Melbourne artists Ghostpatrol (David Booth) and Bonsai, as part of the Sustainable Living festival.
Well, the campaign to paint “Gusto”, too, was successful – it was crowd-funded by 82 supporters and got in-kind support from the artists and local businesses – and the project was completed on November 15, to coincide with a “Sleep under the stars” family camping event.
Our video of the day today is the short film of that event, featuring Ghostpatrol, Bonsai and Friends painting ‘Gusto’ at the Hepburn Wind Farm.
