Video: How a typical Australian home becomes a small power station

Published by

Sam from Renew Economy takes you through the real-world installation of a residential solar, battery storage and EV charging system. This video documents the full process, from roof racking and solar panels, through to battery storage, inverter installation and EV charging, showing what’s actually involved beyond sales brochures and specifications.

The battery, inverter and EV charger featured were supplied by Sungrow, and the solar panels were supplied by AIKO. Over the coming months, Sam will follow up with performance data, energy usage insights and analysis of how systems like this interact with Australia’s evolving electricity market.

This video is part of a 3-part series brought to you by Sungrow‬ and AIKO exploring how distributed energy technologies are being deployed in Australian homes, and what that means for consumers and the grid.
