A rooftop solar installation. Source: Climate Central
Australian rooftop solar installations surged to new records in March, a total of 182MW across the country for the sub 100kW rooftop category. That’s more in one month than was installed in all the years before 2010.
Good news, but industry troubles continue. One is the extraordinary revelation we can make about how some big retailers are making significant sales without the means to install the panels. A recording between one retailer and an installer reveals all.
And there are changes to rules in Queensland about who is allowed to handle solar panels, even when not connected. It could mean the demise of the roof monkey, or worse, the effective halting of an industry.
