Schneider Electric calls for national EV infrastructure fast-track and joins the Electric Vehicle Council

Sydney, Australia – 27 March — Schneider Electric, the leader in digital transformation of energy management and automation, today announced it is joining the Electric Vehicle Council of Australia, and calling on Governments to fast-track the electrification of transport in Australia.

The Electric Vehicle Council is the national body representing the electric vehicle industry in Australia and its mission is to accelerate the electrification of road transport for a sustainable and prosperous Australia.

As a member of the Electric Vehicle Council, Schneider Electric will share its globally sourced insights and local experiences in planning and rolling out EV infrastructure in cities and homes.

“At Schneider Electric, we’ve been at the global forefront of developing end-to-end electric vehicle charging and microgrid solutions needed to make widespread access to electric vehicles a reality,” said Laetitia Odini, EV Solutions Marketing Manager at Schneider Electric. “The mobility sector will have the opportunity to develop new business models based on the new uses and services associated with EVs as decentralized energy resources.”

Schneider Electric is currently involved in a number of projects within the electric vehicle industry, including having deployed EVlink electric vehicle chargers for the Queensland Electric Vehicle Super Highway, as well as a partnership with the City of Adelaide setting up around 20 electric vehicle charging hubs to promote EV ownership and transport.
