Renew Economy is looking to expand its team to help it broaden and deepen its coverage of two of the most important and exciting topics of our time. If you are interested in the transition to green energy and the electrification of transport, this could be for you.
Renew Economy is independently owned and possesses three online titles, Renew Economy itself, the EV-focused The Driven and One Step Off the Grid, and it publishes several weekly and fortnightly podcasts.
Renew Economy is considered a must read by the industry, and it has broader appeal to the general public because of the importance and relevance of its reporting and analysis.
It has total readership of more than half a million unique visitors a month, annual page views of more than 35 million, and annual podcast listens of nearly a million.
The person who fills this full time role will be an experienced journalist, preferably with knowledge of the energy industry, and will have a keen interest in renewable and storage technologies, and electric vehicles, and the policies and regulations that enable it, and what it means for consumers, the economy and the environment.
It’s a fascinating area with a lot at stake – for trillion dollar industries, technologies, developers, communities, investors, financiers, egos, political careers – and, of course, the future of our planet.
You will be self motivated, diligent and curious, able to work remotely and to a daily deadline. You will be a team player, and willing and able to cover the main news of the day, as it emerges. You will also have a nose for a good angle, the fun and the surprising, and an interest in digging deeper into a subject. You will be a good writer.
The role will provide training for online news publishing, as well as opportunities to participate in podcasts and other multimedia production. The role will offer a competitive salary, and will start – ideally – from early February, 2025. We will offer a two year contract with a probation period.
