Previously a partner at Ashurst, Mr Scott has a corporate advisory practice with a front-end energy and resources focus.
He brings over 20 years’ experience of developing natural resources projects in Australia, PNG and Indonesia. He has been involved in many of Australia’s key hard rock and gas projects, including in Queensland’s CSG to LNG industry from its inception.
He has also advised on the development of major gas pipelines, linear infrastructure, solar and wind farms, as well as agribusiness and residential development projects.
Mr Scott advises many of Australia’s largest energy, resources and infrastructure companies on strategies to obtain and maintain project approvals, and is well known for developing innovative solutions to facilitate land access for resources projects, including managing native title and cultural heritage issues. He will start on January 29.
The appointment is the first of a number of new partners being attracted to the firm following our combination with leading independent law firm Henry Davis York on December 1 last year.

· the promotion to the partnership of Chris Mitchell in Melbourne on December 1, and Raymond Lou in Sydney on July 1, last year.
