PRESS RELEASE

A Wodonga installer has won the country’s most prestigious clean energy award, taking home the 2018 Solar Design and Installation Award from the Clean Energy Council.

Luke Fraser from the Wodonga small business, Solar Integrity, was announced as the winner of the Under 30 kW – grid connect PV power system with battery back-up – winner for his work on a Yackandandah micro-grid.

Solar integrity designed and installed a cutting edge solar and battery system that has helped experts understand how microgrids can be used to overcome network constraints on solar PV systems. It also reduced the homeowners’ electricity bill by $2700 per year.

Mr Fraser said receiving the award was a testament to the innovative approach to renewable energy in our region.

“I am so excited to be recognised by the Clean Energy Council and get this award!” Mr Fraser said.

“It his is a reflection of the great work by the team at solar integrity, the leadership provided by local community groups and the industry expertise of Mondo Power.

“Our region is leading the country in innovative approaches to solar and this award further demonstrates the rest of the country is watching on to see what we are doing. I am so thrilled to be able to work alongside my colleagues Brett Emo and Bobbi McKibbin to bring solar power to our towns.

Solar Integrity has been working closely with the community of Yackandandah in their quest for 100% renewable electricity by the year 2022.

The award was received at the packed All Energy conference in Melbourne yesterday.
