PRESS RELEASE

SYDNEY, March 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Upsolar, leading module producer and photovoltaic (PV) solution provider, has announced a new office branch in Sydney opening Upsolar Australia. As part of the new expansion plan, they will bring to the market new solutions for PV generation and smart grid management thanks to a distribution agreement with Regalgrid Europe s.r.l., one of the most innovative players in smart grid technology.

The smart grid platform uses a patented algorithm that manages all data in real time from PV production, energy consumption to storage batteries. The technology helps optimize the distribution of excess energy usage that is produced from solar generation and batteries, thus minimizing the reliance on external energy providers. This can be achieved through a peer-to-peer (P2P) energy model which is a concept where any home could produce its own energy and sell its surplus to Regalgrid users. This can prove highly advantageous to areas recently affected by the energy crisis that has caused blackouts in the southern regions.

In addition to its smart grid solution, Upsolar will launch its new series of UP-M300M and UPM-270P modules, both available with SolarEdge integrated optimizers.

“It has become very apparent that Australia has a growing dependence on renewable energy,” said Enrico Carniato , Group Deputy General Manager of Upsolar. “Thanks to our mature experience in the European storage market we can meet that need by bringing an innovative and secure technology that can support all Australian homes with our roof mounted PVs, smart grid inverters and external lithium battery boxes.”
