PRESS RELEASE
SolarEdge is now offering a GSM cellular kit which includes a pre-installed SIM card with a data plan.
As SolarEdge believes PV system monitoring is a critical tool and due to the recent market success of SolarEdge in Australia, the company has decided to provide this new kit, to our distributors, for free, for a limited time.
Typical communication strategies require installers to enter the premises for setup, and then for the system owner to maintain that connection via their router throughout a system’s lifetime. Both of these requirements can be burdensome. The GSM cellular kit simplifies the setup of solar monitoring connections by eliminating the need to access the premises, speeding up installation times, and reducing installation costs of the installer, while also removing the requirement for the system owner to maintain router connectivity.
Ideal for locations without internet access or broadband infrastructure, the GSM cellular kit includes a GSM network card combined with a pre-installed SIM card including a 5-year data plan. The GSM cellular kit can be used in combination with any single-phase SolarEdge inverter, including SolarEdge’s StorEdge™ solutions to provide online PV, battery, and consumption monitoring.
