PRESS RELEASE
Solar tracker manufacturer, PVHardware (PVH), has announced a landmark collaboration with developer Global Power Generation Australia (GPG Australia) as the tracker supplier to deliver a combined 360MW of electricity generation capacity with the Glenellen and Bundaberg Solar Farms, that will be built by Monford Group as the main contractor.
These two contracts mark a significant announcement for PVHardware as it grows its portfolio and network for EPC partners to continue to grow in the Australian market, after supplying trackers to 2.6GW of solar projects since entering in 2018.
Both projects are the first solar farms for GPG Australia in New South Wales and in Queensland respectively, represent a collaborative effort towards advancing renewable energy and reflect GPG Australia’s commitment to advancing its renewable targets in the country.
Located in New South Wales, the Glenellen Solar Farm is expected to be commissioned and fully operational by Q4 2025, reaching a full capacity of 260 MW. The project will consist of over 370,000 solar modules, generating enough renewable energy to power more than 80,000 homes. It will be the first Agrisolar farm for GPG worldwide, thus reducing the loss of agricultural land that it is typically associated with solar farm projects.
Bundaberg Solar Farm will have an installed capacity of approximately 100 MW, starting operation in Q3 2025 with more than 168,000 solar modules. This project will generate around 200 GWh annually, enough to power about 36,000 homes while preventing the emission of 170,000 tons of CO2 equivalent into the atmosphere.
PVH will supply Glenellen Solar Farm with 260MW of the Monoline2P, and 100MW of the Monoline1P to Bundaberg, a site-customised approach to fit the complex needs and requirements of each site.
Both projects will positively impact the local community, creating jobs and boosting energy generation capacity to over 360 MW upon commissioning. PV Hardware’s global manufacturing strategy, with facilities on three continents, allows them to customize their product features to meet the specific needs of any solar project. In this case, PVH’s technology will be fully adapted to meet the unique requirements of the Glenellen and
Bundaberg projects.Newly appointed VP of sales in Australia, Trevor De Vries, echoed the projects’ importance to PVH in Australia. He said:
“I am delighted to make this as my first announcement with PVH. It certainly marks a significant milestone for our progress and independence within the Australian market. We are especially pleased to work alongside GPG Australia and Monford Group to bring these projects to life.
“My career has been spent in renewables and infrastructure, and I am so pleased to be able to bring my experience to PVH and make a significant contribution to Australia’s energy transition.
“Both of these projects will positively impact the local community, creating jobs and boosting energy generation capacity. PV Hardware’s global manufacturing strategy, with facilities on three continents, allows us to customise their product features to meet the specific needs of any solar project.”
