WIRSOL Energy, part of the WIRCON Group, has appointed Bill Calcraft as non-executive director of its Australian operations.
Bill will focus on expanding WIRSOL Energy’s relationships in Australia, bringing a wealth of experience in the European energy sector to WIRSOL Energy’s thriving business.
A member of the 1984 Grand Slam Wallabies and an Oxford blue, Bill was a managing director of the London based Allianz Capital Partners Gmbh. Bill has unrivalled experiences in sport and business that will only benefit and enhance the WIRSOL Energy team.
Mark Hogan, Managing Director of WIRSOL Energy said: “having someone with Bill’s experience and undoubted reputation will be a great addition to our operations in Australia.
Bill’s broad range of skills and expertise will help us realise our ambitions of developing and building 1GWp of solar PV in Australia.
Bill’s sporting background will certainly create an interesting dynamic within the company during the forthcoming Ashes series”.
Bill’s appointment follows WIRSOL Energy’s $230 million acquisition of the 198MWp solar portfolio that marked the Groups arrival in Australia back in March of this year.
The recent announcement of the partnership with Australian developer, Renew Estate, will enable WIRSOL Energy to achieve its ambition of realising a 1 GW pipeline in Australia.
