Former Tilt boss to head newly emerging Australian renewables player

One of the fastest growing Australian owned renewable energy players, Someva Renewables, has appointed the former head of Tilt Renewables, Geoff Dutaillis, to be its executive chair.

Someva has recently risen to prominence with a deal to develop the 1.2 gigawatt Pottinger Energy Park combining wind, solar and battery storage in south-west NSW in partnership with AGL Energy.

It is also one of the winning bidders for a licence to build a wind farm in state pine plantations with its 500 megawatt Sunny Corner project near Lithgow that it is seeking to develop with Mainstream Renewables.

Someva is also the original developer of the contested Hills of Gold wind project in New England, which is now owned by Engie, and is also developing the 150 MW Coonerang wind project south of Cooma, and a potential 230 MW wind project near the mining city of Mount Isa in Queensland.

Dutaillis has been working for 30 years in the energy sector, including stints at Tilt, as executive general manager of CleanCo during its establishment phase), and as the CEO of Wind Energy Holding and COO of Babcock and Brown Wind that became Infigen Energy.
