Chart of the day: Plummeting battery costs defy expectations

Buried in a Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory report about the electrification of rural and long-haul trucks is a fascinating chart that shows, very clearly, how significantly the recent falls in  battery costs have defied expectations.

The projections below were only produced four short years ago – an eternity, of course, in clean tech years. “Electric trucks appear poised to also meet the performance demands for a large share of regional and long-haul trucking today”.
