ACCIONA announces new head of Australian energy business

ACCIONA has appointed Brett Wickham as the new Managing Director of its Australian energy business.

Brett is an experienced industry executive who will bring a commercial focus and international expertise to the role, having worked on renewable energy projects in 14 countries.

First joining ACCIONA in 2006 as Director Engineering, Construction & Operations in the Australian energy business, he then moved to South Africa in 2012 as Director Construction & Operations, helping establish the brand in that country.

From 2015 until mid-2017 he worked for ACCIONA at its energy headquarters in Spain as Director Projects Organisation, creating a new framework for the development of international solar and wind farms around the world.

“I am delighted to be coming back to ACCIONA in this position,” Brett said. “It’s a very exciting time in the renewables sector in Australia, with increasing levels of investment and widespread public support for sustainable clean energy technologies. I’m looking forward to working with our team, building on our long-term investment in this country and developing new projects.”

Brett takes over from Andrew Thomson, who has stepped down after six successful years leading the business in Australia, and 10 with the company overall. ACCIONA thanks Andrew for his leadership and dedication, and wishes him all the best for his future endeavours.
