PRESS RELEASE
The Clean Energy Council is proud to announce DICE Australia as our 100th Approved Solar Retailer, highlighting the growth of a program which has now helped tens of thousands of Australians choose a reputable solar company.
Clean Energy Council Chief Executive Kane Thornton said Northern Territory-based DICE Australia is a shining example of the many Approved Solar Retailers in every state and territory giving everyday Aussies the confidence to make the switch to solar power.
“The Approved Solar Retailer program helps people choose a solar company which offers a minimum five-year whole-of-system warranty and is committed to a level of customer service over and above the industry standard. Pretty much wherever you are in the country, there is now one of these companies who can make a potentially confusing decision much easier,” Mr Thornton said.
“It’s also the only program of its kind that is authorised by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission. Solar businesses have to meet strict criteria to be accepted, and we turn back almost as many solar companies as we accept – making it better for consumers in the long run.
“While the program is voluntary, it’s great to see an increasing number of government and business programs recognise the value of higher standards of conduct, by including a requirement that solar businesses need to be approved solar retailers in order to be eligible,” he said.
Mr Thornton said that all Clean Energy Council Approved Solar Retailers:
Mr Thornton said the Approved Solar Retailer program was one of many measures the Clean Energy Council had introduced in the last five years to constantly improve safety and quality across the industry as more homes and businesses installed solar power to reduce their power bills.
“I would particularly like to recognise our very first Approved Solar Retailers – Suntrix, Bradford Solar and Springers Solar – along with the commitment and leadership of the many businesses which have helped make the program such a success over the last five years,” Mr Thornton said.
