In this edition, RenewEconomy founder and editor Giles Parkinson and columnist and energy markets expert David Leitch focus on Turnbull’s gas bag of policy initiatives. Will it really lower prices?

Also on the agenda is AGL’s rebranding efforts, and why it the company is promsing to exit coal in 33 years, given they only entered the market 5 years ago (clue: they making lots of money).

And we look at the latest solar stats (there is a lot of it), and the latest developmemtns for battery storage, including a set-back for Redflow and two new big installations tendered by Victoria.

So good that this is finally available on iTunes. Thanks for sticking with it. “The Energy Gang” is good but it’s great to get some Australian perspective in my podcast listening schedule.

Seems odd that you guys want to write off Redflow so quickly. It wasn’t that long ago that lithium batteries were blowing up and setting themselves on fire, but those teething problems were overcome just as everyone expected that they would be. The Zcells don’t appear to have a similar design flaw, its a supply chain or assembly issue by all accounts that would be far easier to remedy than the early lithium faults. I’m betting they will be back on track pretty quickly.
