Clean Energy Finance Corporation boss Ian Learmonth joins Energy Insiders this week to discuss the National Energy Guarantee, the new Lincoln Gap wind farm with battery storage, and what’s next for the CEFC’s growing portfolio.
Top of the bill is the NEG, which is creating more uncertainty and potential investment delays. After ESB chair’s Kerry Schott’s webinar on Friday, it is becoming increasingly clear that the ESB has either not thought through, or just does not want to talk about the policy details, particularly with the huge questions over emissions, the definition of reliability, and its potential huge benefit on incumbent utilities.
Learmonth says the CEFC will be keeping a close eye on the ESB’s cost assumptions, and also talks about the exciting new project at Lincoln Gap, which will feature the country’s first unsubsidised battery storage array to be built at a wind or solar farm.
There is more on D Energy, the Bonn climate talks, and the rest of the CEFC portfolio.
