Energy Insiders Podcast: EVs, transport emissions and the overwhelming case for renewables

Energy Insiders podcast

This week we have two interviews for our weekly podcast – with Greg Bourne on the Climate Council’s report on transport emissions, and Deloitte’s John O’Brien on the overwhelming case for renewables.

Bourne has had a unique perspective on Australia’s climate and energy debate: he has been a boss of BP’s Australian operations, head of WWF Australia and chair of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency, and now with the Climate Council.

The report on transport emissions released last week highlighted how Australia’s is dragging the chain and letting a huge opportunity slip to reduce emissions on transport, accelerate the uptake of electric vehicles, and address energy security issues.

At the same time, a report from Deloitte, pointed out that the case has never been stronger for renewable energy, and highlights how the combination of wind, solar and storage will continue their dramatic cost falls, and also dismisses a few of the more common myths around renewables.

You can find this episode here, and other episodes of Energy Insiders, Solar Insiders, and the podcast from our new electric vehicle website The Driven, here, as well as on your favourite platform.
