Energy Insiders Podcast December 21

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Sometimes it didn’t feel like it, but 2017 ended up being a good year, for all the cowering from serious policy measures and teeth-grinding politcs over energy.

In our final podcast of the year – and the 40th since it launched in February – Giles Parkinson and David Leitch go over the highs and the lows of 2017, and there was definitely more good than bad.

For example, the plunging cost of solar, the 4-5GW of new large scale renewables approved, a record year for rooftop installations, the Finkel Review and the appointment of Audrey Zibelman as CEO of AEMO.

There was also the growing engagement of corporate Australia in renewable energy, and AGL’s insistence that closing Liddell and replacing it with renewables was a smarter, cheaper and better idea than keeping it open.

As far for the lows, and the forecasts for 2018 …. Well, you will have to listen to find out.
