PRESS RELEASE

Endeavour Energy today welcomed its one millionth customer marking a significant milestone for a company that has grown alongside its customers for over a century.
As one of the fastest growing parts of Australia, Greater Western Sydney will be the home to new communities the size of Wollongong and Canberra over the next 20 years requiring additional infrastructure to connect over 20,000 new homes and business each and every year.
To celebrate the occasion, Endeavour Energy greeted its one millionth customer, newly-wed North Kellyville residents Karina and Tyronne Worrell, with a house warming gift of a solar and battery storage system to energise their new life together.
“We are thrilled to be Endeavour Energy’s millionth customer and are very grateful for the generous gift,” Karina Worrell said.
“This gift will completely change the way we consume power. It allows us to store or sell excess solar power while still having the security of remaining connected to the grid,” Tyronne said.
In congratulating Karina and Tyronne, Chief Executive Officer Tony Narvaez said Endeavour Energy was proud of reaching this significant landmark for its business.
“This occasion is a great time to thank all our customers, and to reflect on the strengths of our past and some of the exciting possibilities that lie ahead,” Mr Narvaez said.
“Even with the many changes over our history, and many more to come, our customers remain at the heart of everything we do.”
Mr Narvaez said the affordable, safe and reliable supply of electricity from Endeavour Energy’s network was the lifeblood of safe and functioning modern homes, businesses and communities.
“Since the electrification of Penrith in 1891, our network has grown as part of post war development as people just like Karina and Tyronne moved to new areas to make a life together.
“Our network now powers Australia’s third largest economy and the fastest growing residential areas in Australia, with the population of Western Sydney forecast to grow by over 900,000 people in the next 20 years.”
In addition to servicing growth, Mr Narvaez said Endeavour Energy was giving customers choice and control by preparing its network to meet their increasingly diverse needs into the future.
“The electricity network supporting Australia’s modern economy and lifestyle is experiencing unprecedented change as customers embrace new technologies like smart meters, solar and batteries in ever increasing numbers.
“Our future is linked to meeting the changing needs of our customers and enabling their energy choices.
“We are building a network which allows customers like Karina and Tyronne to embrace new technology and offer them new ways to save money by shifting electricity to off-peak periods.”
Mr Narvaez said one thing that would not change was the commitment of Endeavour Energy staff working behind the scenes in delivering great service to customers.
“As we grow, our customers will still continue to enjoy our friendly and down to earth approach.
“We will always remain committed to providing electricity supply in an affordable, safe and reliable manner.”
Endeavour Energy would like to thank Solaray Energy Western Sydney for their assistance in installing the solar and battery system in Karina and Tyronne’s new home.
