Thanks for reading! New traffic milestones for RenewEconomy

RenewEconomy is proud to announce that it has reached several significant readership traffic milestones in the last month, as interest in the federal election and its aftermath galvanise interest in climate change and clean energy policies, and alternative technologies such as solar and storage.

The most significant of the milestones has been passing the key metric of 100,000 unique visitors in a month. In the past month, RenewEconomy has had 135,000 unique visitors to the site. This firmly establishes RenewEconomy as by far the most widely read clean energy specialist news and analysis site in the country.

Numbers have grown consistently since the launch of the website in January, 2012, but the rate of growth has increased in recent months.

Another milestone achieved this month has been reaching 100,000 page views in a single week. We anticipate monthly page views of more than 350,000 for the month of September. This is up from 200,000 in July and 250,000 in August.

The daily newsletter also retains a strong and loyal readership. The newsletter has an industry-leading average open rate of 42 per cent, and its click rate is an extraordinary 24 per cent – around five times the industry average.

RenewEconomy would like to thank its regular readers and also its occasional visitors for their interest. We have recently upgraded our servers, so we hope that any problems accessing the site (caused by the increased interest) have now been resolved.

Congratulations Giles and co. The news you report is not only relevant, interesting and up to date, but it’s the only place you can get it as there’s a near-complete dearth of reportage on these issues in mainstream media.

Furthermore, the “old-fashioned” journalism you do is a welcome change from the vapid op-ed nonsense we see peddled by burnt-out journos and special interests in broadcast and print media.

    Onwards and upwards I say!

Thanks Patrick. For once I don’t mind being described as old-fashioned. Might even go find my cardigan.

Congratulations Giles, excellent work and especially when you went out on a limb and created this awesome news site (which rates internationally) from scratch. Keep up the good work – towards 1 million!!

Congratulations to Giles, Sophie and RenewEconomy all round for a great website! I couldn’t cope without my daily dose of intelligent, optimistic articles from this site. Looking forward to more down the track, including hopefully more coverage of sustainable superannuation and strategies for increasing renewables and tackling Big Coal.

Congrats Giles – well deserved. Quality independent journalism – an increasing rarity in Australia.

Thanks for the great work Giles, Sophie and other contributors. Refreshing to hear that public interest is increasing in these dark political times. Its also great to see the comments sections aren’t overun by the usual denier types so typical in this area of reporting. Whatever you’re doing Giles, just keep doing it !

Reneweconomy is going to continue to grow substantially from here as this fight heats up and will be a significant contributor towards navigating our ship away from the dark storm and dangerous course Abbott ‘the puppet’ has set.

It’s also reassuring to assume that Murdoch will not be buying out this website as he did intentionally, in my opinion, Business / Climate Spectator. Whatcha gonna do about this one Rupert!?

    Viva reneweconomy!

Congratulations RenewEconomy!!! I read RenewEconomy nearly everyday as well as Climate Spectator and Clean Technica. There is amazing stuff happening out there in renewable energy, etc,. and I look forward everyday to finding out whats happening from your report and similar sites. I find it incredibly exciting! Pity the mainstream media doesn’t report this stuff because a lot of people have no idea how much progress is being made. As Abbott and Co. seek to dumb Australia down and adopt an anti-science, back to basics, keep it simple approach I fear Australia will simply be left behind. How depressing!! How can they claim to be a responsible government whilst ignoring the environmental and economic gains that could be made? So we need your articles even more, to remind us that even though Australia has chosen such a regressive government there are still people and nations in the world who are forging ahead with the “Great Energy Transition”. Keep up the good work!
