RenewEconomy is looking to expand its coverage of the clean energy transition, particularly around electric vehicles, and is seeking a full-time or part-time journalists.

The position, or positions, will suit experienced journalists who can work independently (ours is a virtual office), and who have an ability to not just write news, but also break news, be accurate and incisive, interview key players, and contribute interesting analysis and commentary.

We are not just targeting the industry, we are also looking to provide coverage that engages a broader audience.

This role will be primarily focused on the generation of content, but will also include copy editing, social media engagement, preparation of podcasts and coordination with contributors, as well as liaison with the rest of the RenewEconomy and One Step Off the Grid team.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated person, or persons, to write for a rapidly growing online media organisation (monthly page views around one million, unique visitors 350,000), and be at the heart of an important and exciting technology transition.

If you are interested, please send a brief resume and introduction, including an outline of your motivation for applying for the role, to [email protected].

We look forward to hearing from you. Closing date for applications is April 25.

Yes please. Australia deserves the coverage you provide, and EVs are an important part of that.

Great expansion. Perhaps consider a tertiary trained science And media person. All the very best in the search.

I could wax lyrical about my electric pushbike but I think you might lose subscribers.

Any way, totally off topic. Does anyone know if Basslink is down again?
Both NEM watch and Open NEM have shown no transfers for the past couple of days.
Or maybe the Libs kept their promise and pulled out of the NEM? 😉

      Maintenance it seems for basslink.
Please do wax lyrical about your electric pushbike. would be happy to publish. had a ride of one a week or two back, thought they were great, tho the model i tried was pricy!

        Thanks for the Basslink update.
I might have to use a nom de plume as my e-bike might not be totally legal 😉

Well, the good ting is; this is a good strategic move — nobody else is reporting, hence a head start is a clear advantage. I hope it also increases ad revenue to fund it nicely.

To cover electric vehicles in the Australian market or all electric vehicles – even if they are not slated to be sold here?

Either way, I have always been into electronics and petrol cars – so I can throw my hat in the ring.

No don’t, you missed the bit about also being a journalist, someone who has had training and experience writing articles that are clear and concise, which is a skill that few people posses naturally.

The sad aspect is not many EV’s being sold in Australia.
Perhaps that bloke who started an EV conversion business in Melbourne about 10 years ago.

Then it would need to be someone based in Europe. Someone who can interview the car company executives in Europe.

How about a solar robot to fill the role. Might be a tad biased toward modern ideas.

On a serious note we certainly need to stimulate awareness in Australia about it. It may be the biggest shake up of the next 25 years.

If not already part of the brief, may I suggest that reporting should also include the electrification of mowing, etc.
Again Au is very backward in this area and a very disproportionate amount of pollution is created in this unregulated space.
Zeromow , previously reported in RE are early movers for demonstration but most mowing services and shops stuck in the past

Get up to 3 quotes from pre-vetted solar (and battery) installers.
