Motorcycle giants Harley Davidson has announced project “Livewire” – an electric motorbike which they say can go from 0-100km/h in 4 seconds – without the noise.
Details about project LiveWire are minimal, there is no release date as of yet, nor any indication of the costs involved.
Harley Davidson however, are traveling across the U.S on a 30-day tour where potential customers will be allowed to test ride and give feedback on project LiveWire.
“Let’s unleash a new kind of freedom into the world,” the company says on its website. “Let’s re-imagine the possibilities and re-imagine the ride.
“By getting on the street with other riders to discover how heart-pounding and soul-satisfying we can make the ride. Do you want in?The tour will eventually be brought to more location in the U.S as well as Europe sometime next year.”
Whether lovers of the signature loud engines will embrace the quieter electric version is something we’ll have to wait and see, but social media has generally reacted with great anticipation and enthusiasm to the news.
